With the help of software for creating fonts, computer users have the opportunity to create their own character sets that will meet their requirements when working and editing documents and images in graphic editors.
Necessary
- - A4 sheet;
- - black gel pen;
- - scanner.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a sheet of A4 paper without any markings and write the entire alphabet in lowercase and uppercase letters on it sequentially using a black gel pen. Also write down all the numbers from 0 to 9 and the characters you want to use when writing documents in your Windows font. Try to keep all the signs on one page.
Step 2
Once you are done with the drawing procedure, scan the resulting list with a scanner. To do this, put a sheet in the device and open the scanning software that was installed with the drivers for your printer. You can choose any mode of saving the image, however, to achieve higher quality of the font, it is advisable to select a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Step 3
Download Font Creator from the official website of the software developer. Install it by running the installer and going through all the steps in the window.
Step 4
Launch the application using the created icon on the desktop or the Start menu. Call the File - New option to create a new font file.
Step 5
Enter a name for your new font in the Font Family Name field of the section that appears. In the Character set section, leave the Unicode option and click "OK". Specify the path to the resulting scanned image with your letters. Select the letter "A" and copy it into the second window of the Caption program: F. You can select it with the left mouse button, or copy it using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl and C.
Step 6
Move the red lines and arrange them so that the letter is as even as possible in the selection. Insert other letters in the same way according to the Latin keyboard layout. For example, to import the letter "C" you will have to use the section responsible for the D button, and to insert "B" go to the comma cell of the screen.
Step 7
Having inserted all the letters, view the resulting font by pressing the F5 button or selecting the Font - Test section. Save the received changes using File - Save, then run the resulting file to install it in the system and place it in the Fonts folder of the Windows directory.
Step 8
To use a font, go to any text editor and in the list of fonts, select the item with your name. Font drawing is complete.
