Transferring content from an old hard drive to a new one is a long process. This is especially true when there is no desire to reinstall the operating system. After all, you can't just take and copy the OS, since it simply won't start after that. Despite all the hassle of this procedure, there is a way that allows you to quickly transfer information to another hard drive, namely, copy the hard drive partition with all the contents.

Instructions
Step 1
For the operation, you will need the Norton PartitionMagic hard drive software. Find it on the Internet, download and install it on your computer.
Step 2
Before starting the operation, the second hard disk to which the partition will be copied must be installed on your computer. Start Norton PartitionMagic. In its main menu there is a section "Select a task". Find the "Copy section" option in this section. The first window that appears will contain introductory information. Read it and proceed further.
Step 3
The next window will display a list of sections. Click on the section you want to copy with the left mouse button. This way the section will be highlighted. Then proceed further. You will see a window where select the hard drive to which the partition will be copied, and then proceed further.
Step 4
Another window will appear, in which click on "Finish". The process of copying the partition to another hard disk will start. All you have to do is wait for the operation to complete, the duration of which depends both on the parameters of the hard disk and on the capacity of the copied partition.
Step 5
Norton Ghost is also a good program for copying partitions. Find it on the internet and download it. The program is paid, but there is a trivial period of its use, which is 30 days. Install the application to your computer hard drive.
Step 6
Start Norton Ghost. Then select "Service" in the program menu, and then - "Copy hard disk". The "Wizard" will start, which will guide you through the procedure for copying the section. The principle of operation is the same as in the case of the first program. Select the section you want to copy. Then select another hard drive to which the partition will be copied and start the operation.
