Various methods are used to copy information from a laptop hard disk. The easiest way is to connect an external hard drive to your mobile computer. Unfortunately, not all users have such drives.

Step 1
If you have a desktop computer, connect your laptop hard drive to it. Remove the hard drive from the mobile computer by opening the desired compartment cover. Find out the type of device interface. To connect to the motherboard, IDE and SATA ports are usually used.
Step 2
To connect an IDE hard drive, you need a special adapter. It is the connection of the data bus and the power cable to a common interface. If your laptop has a hard drive with a SATA port, just connect it to the same channel on your desktop computer.
Step 3
Turn on your PC and hold down the F8 key. Select the required hard drive to continue downloading. Install the Partition Manager program. Restart your computer and run this utility.
Step 4
Delete several partitions from your computer's hard drive. Be sure to save important files beforehand. Now open the "Wizards" tab and select "Copy Hard Drive".
Step 5
In the new window, select the laptop hard drive and click the "Next" button. Specify the unallocated area of the hard drive of the stationary computer. Its size must exceed the size of the hard drive of the mobile computer. Click the Next button again.
Step 6
Close the settings dialog. Open the "Changes" tab and click the "Apply" button. The hard disk copying process can take several hours. Reboot your computer when finished.
Step 7
Launch the Partition Manager program again. Create a new partition on your computer's hard drive. To do this, use the free space left after copying the information.
Step 8
This procedure can also be performed with external hard drives. To do this, connect your device to your laptop via eSATA or USB ports.
