V-Ray materials are an indispensable element when creating 3D images in 3D Max. You can make them yourself, or you can use ready-made ones, which significantly saves time.
Instructions
Step 1
Using any search resource convenient for you, find the vray material on the Internet. Please note that some materials come with a special installation program, and some are "naked". If you only got the material itself, without the accompanying installation interface, also download the GetYouWant program. This is a fairly common and easy-to-use program. It is not difficult to find it, in addition, it is free.
Step 2
Do the following if you want to download the vray material downloaded with the installer. Disable antivirus on your personal computer. Otherwise, you will not be able to unpack the archive with V-Ray. For some unknown reason, any antivirus perceives such archives as malicious software. There is no point in reconfiguring the antivirus, because later in similar situations it may not notice the real threat. Also, do not forget to turn off your Internet connection, because by disabling your antivirus, you leave your computer defenseless.
Step 3
Run the installation file after the archive is unpacked. Confirm all actions of the installation wizard by periodically pressing the OK button. Once the installation is complete, close the program and restart your personal computer. After that, open the 3d Max program and press the F10 key. A list will appear with all vray materials installed on your computer.
Step 4
Select the one you just installed and you can start actively using it. If you downloaded vray material without the installation file, use the GetYouWant program. Click the "open" button, select a material. Then click the "Install" button and wait for the program to install and add it to the 3D Max library.
