To correct and retouch a photo, you may need to select its individual fragments. For example, if you want to change the color of the eyes, remove the unhealthy redness of the proteins or extend the eyelashes - to successfully implement the idea, you will need to select the eyes and copy them to a separate layer.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the Lasso Tool from the toolbar. Circle the eye by holding down the left mouse button. This selection can be adjusted. On the Select menu, use the Transform Selection option. Right-click inside the selection and choose Warp. Pick an anchor point with the mouse and, moving it, change the selection in accordance with the shape of the eye.
Step 2
To select both eyes, on the property bar, click the Add to selection button and stroke them one at a time. True, it should be borne in mind that two selected areas will have to be corrected at once, and this is not always convenient.
Step 3
You can use the Elliptical Marquee Tool from group M. Use the Transform Selection and Warp options to reshape the correct ellipse to the desired shape.
Step 4
Select the Pen Tool from the toolbar. Circle the eye by clicking the left key, at small intervals. Then select the Direct Selection Tool from group A and click on the path. Control nodes appear on the selection. Hook them with the mouse and, changing the position, correct the shape of the selection.
Step 5
Press Q to activate the quick mask selection mode. Set the default colors - you can do this with the D hotkey. Select the Brush Tool and start painting over the eyes. Part of the image will be covered with a transparent red film. To remove the mask, set the foreground color to white and paint over the area.
Step 6
Press Q again to return to normal mode. Now you have the entire image selected except for the eyes. Use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + I to invert the selection. You can also use the Inverse command from the Select menu.
