Downloading the driver

Go to the official website of Nvidia using the browser installed on the system. At the top of the page, select the "Drivers" - "Download Drivers" section.

On the next page, you will need to select the video card used in the system. Click on the "Graphics Drivers" button under "Option 2" if you do not know the model name of your video card. You can also see the name of the video adapter in the documentation for your computer. If you know the name of the board, in the "Option 1" item, select the necessary parameters from the drop-down list opposite the items "Product type", "Product series", "Product family" and "Operating system". Click Search and then Download Now and wait for the driver installation file to start downloading.

Preparing for installation

Before starting the downloaded file, turn off all resource-intensive applications running on your computer. Close the torrent client, peer-to-peer programs, browsers, and antivirus applications. If you have games or graphics editing applications running in the background, you should also disable them.

If you previously had the Nvidia driver installed, uninstall it. To do this, go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Uninstall a program". If you are using Windows 8, you can search for Add or Remove Programs by going to the Metro interface and starting typing.

From the list of applications, select the name that Nvidia contains, and then select Uninstall at the top of the window. Confirm the uninstallation of the driver, after completion of which, restart the computer. After uninstalling, it is possible to change the screen resolution and visually increase the size of the system icons, which will return to the usual ones after installing the driver.

Installation

Run the file downloaded from the folder by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button. Unpack the files and wait for the installation window to appear. Accept the terms of the license agreement to begin installation.

The driver files will be installed in a few minutes. During the installation of the drivers, the screen may refresh several times, which is also normal. After the installation is complete, the installer will display a corresponding notification asking you to restart your computer. Click "Yes, restart your computer now" to complete the installation. After rebooting, the driver will be fully installed and the computer will be ready for use.
