If you want to protect your data, you can restrict the access of strangers to the information of your player, phone or other device, even if the device is lost. To do this, you need to put a password on the memory card contained in the device (you can also close individual folders and files with a password). To set a password on a memory card, you need to do the following.
Necessary
Program for working with memory cards
Instructions
Step 1
Download a special program for working with memory cards.
If you want to password protect the entire USB flash drive, you can use Master Voyager. If you want to create a partition on a USB flash drive and close it with a password (the so-called file archive), you can use TrueCrypt. If you only need to close one file or folder, then use Password Protect USB or MyFolder. In addition, you can download Rohos Mini Drive (limited to 2GB of memory), FreeOTFE, AxCrypt.
Step 2
Install the selected program on your computer and activate the USB flash drive that you want to password protect.
Step 3
Assign the required password attributes (according to security rules, the password should consist of letters and numbers, symbols of different case and not have stable combinations like 123.., qwer … etc.
Step 4
IMPORTANT! Examine the program settings and find the menu item that allows you to manage the compatibility of the contents of the memory card under the password with computers or other devices that do not have the program you used to set the password on the card. Provide the ability to read files from a USB flash drive, which is on password access, in the program menu to set a password.
Step 5
Duplicate the password from the memory card on some medium - if you forget the password, you will not be able to recover it even by formatting the card.
