How many cores a computer processor contains, its performance directly depends. Modern powerful models from leading manufacturers have 3 or 4 cores, and therefore are functional and fast. However, even simple 1-core copies, due to their price, have not yet completely left the computer hardware market.
Instructions
Step 1
To find out how many cores your PC's processor has, go to the Start menu located on the toolbar on your desktop. Find "My Computer" and right click on it. Select Task Manager from the list that opens. A new window will appear with a list of the technical stuff installed on the computer. Find "Processor" in the list and view information about it. At the same time, it will be possible to see how correctly the equipment is working - if something is wrong in the system, an exclamation mark or a cross will be indicated next to the corresponding element of the list.
Step 2
If you want to get more detailed information about the operation of each kernel, then download to your computer any special program that scans the system and then gives the analysis results. TuneUp Utilities is an example.
Step 3
After the program has been downloaded, run it, wait while it checks all the necessary files. At the top of the utility window, find the "Fix problems" option, and in it - the "Show system information" tab. The General Overview window will open, where you will briefly summarize the basic information regarding processor operation.
Step 4
To get a detailed report on the type of processor, the amount of cache memory and the BIOS version, use the "System Devices" tab of the program. In addition, the "Processor" window has a "Details" tab. Go to it and, thanks to the options available in it, you will find out which technologies are supported by the processor and which are not available for it, and also get comprehensive information regarding the operation of each individual kernel (if there are several of them in the computer).
Step 5
If the programs show the presence of any malfunctions or inaccuracies in the operation of the cores and the entire processor, immediately contact a specialist for help - it is quite possible that the matter will be limited to reinstalling the drivers, but this way you will surely protect yourself from possible breakdown.
