Multiprocessing in the computer world has appeared relatively recently. The first dual-core processors cost a lot. But over time, their prices dropped, and computers with dual-core processors were already available to most users. But the growth of technology didn't stop there. Nowadays, three or four-core processors are no surprise. Sometimes, having bought a computer, the user does not even know how many cores the processor has. And it's pretty easy to find out.

Instructions
Step 1
The number of processor cores can be found both in the system way and using additional programs. If you just need to find out information about the number of cores in the processor and without additional details, use the system method. To do this, select the Properties command from the My Computer context menu. In the window that appears, select the "Device Manager" component. A menu opens with information about the hardware installed on your computer. Find the line "Processors". There is an arrow opposite this line, click on it. After that, you will see how many cores the processor has on your computer.
Step 2
If you need more detailed information about the processor and about each of its cores, you will need to install additional programs. Download and install TuneUp Utilities. Run the program. Wait while the program scans your computer. In the top menu of the program, select the "Fix problems" tab. Then go to the "Show System Information" tab. A window titled "Overview" appears. There is also information about the number of cores of your processor, but it is only superficial.
Step 3
In order to find out more detailed information, click on the "System devices" tab. The window will display information about the type of processor, the amount of cache memory, the BIOS version. Pay attention to the "Processor" window. In addition to its characteristics, there is a tab "Processor details". Click on this tab, after which a window will open with the most detailed information on each processor core. The window that appears also has a "Features" tab. By clicking on this tab, you will see which technologies are supported by the processor and which are not available. If the processor supports a certain technology, there will be a green check mark next to its name.
