Cartridges are perhaps the most vulnerable part of any inkjet printer. They must be handled very carefully, since the slightest contamination of the nozzles or contacts can lead to their complete unusability. To eliminate the occurrence of such unpleasant consequences, it is necessary to periodically thoroughly clean the cartridges.
Necessary
- - special reanimation fluid;
- - ultrasonic bath;
- - Fairy detergent;
- - water;
- - foam rubber swab;
- - distilled water.
Instructions
Step 1
If you observe defects such as faintness or streaking during printing, you need to clean the nozzles of the cartridge. To do this, use a special resuscitation fluid. Remove the cartridge from the printer, peel off the ink holes and pour some liquid into the color channel you are not happy with. Wait for the cartridge to saturate, then reinsert it into the printer.
Step 2
Clean the nozzles using the printer options, let it sit for a couple of hours, and then try printing something in the color you're interested in. This will make it possible to remove the remaining ink and replace it with resuscitation fluid.
Step 3
Leave the printer overnight, refill the cartridge with a small amount of ink the next day and print again. If the desired color does not appear on the paper, change the ink again to resuscitation fluid. This procedure is recommended until the problem is completely eliminated.
Step 4
You can clean the cartridge nozzles with Fairy. Pour some water into the ultrasonic cleaner and add a few drops of detergent. Place the cartridges you need in this solution with the nozzles down and turn on the bath. It is recommended that this cleaning should only be done as a last resort, as the oscillation frequency is critical for the printheads of many cartridges.
Step 5
To clean the ink cartridge contacts, turn on the printer, wait for the carriage to move to the right, and then remove the cartridge. Look for debris or ink on the contacts. Take a foam rubber swab and moisten it with distilled water and squeeze it well.
Step 6
Holding the sides of the cartridge, gently wipe the swab over the copper contacts. Install the cartridge back into the printer. If necessary, clean the contacts of the second cartridge in the same way.
