To restore hard disk partitions, it is recommended to use special programs. If this is not possible, then you can use the standard tools of the Windows operating system.
Necessary
Partition Manager
Instructions
Step 1
Open the start menu and go to the computer control panel. Now select the "Administration" item located in the "System and Security" menu. Find the shortcut to the "Computer Management" menu and launch it.
Step 2
Find the "Storage" menu in the left column and expand it. Open Disk Management. Examine the graphical representation of the existing hard disk partitions. Highlight the section whose settings you want to change. Now open the Action tab and expand the All Tasks submenu. Click on the item "Make section active". Restart your computer to apply the new partition settings.
Step 3
If you do not have access to the hard disk management menu, then download and install the Partition Manager program. Restart your computer so that the utility has all the necessary information about the status of the hard drives. Start Partition Manager.
Step 4
Select Advanced Mode. Now find the graphical representation of the hidden section. Click on it with the right mouse button and select "Show section". If you need to clear this sector of the hard disk before use, then right-click on it and select "Format Partition". In the new menu, select the format of the future file system and specify the size of the cluster.
Step 5
Now open the "Changes" menu. Click the Apply Changes button. Wait for the program to terminate all running processes. Restart your computer to apply the changes to the hard drive settings. As an alternative to Partition Manager, you can use the Acronis Disk Director Suite utility. Be careful when changing the parameters of the partitions. Never format the system disk or change its characteristics unless absolutely necessary.
