When creating a collage, it is often necessary to combine several photos. For example, to enhance the mood, you can add some details to the landscape: a deep sky with beautiful clouds, or, conversely, thunderclouds and lightning.
Necessary
- - Adobe Photoshop;
- - two photos.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the sky photo. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the layer thumbnail. A selection appears around the photo. Copy it to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl + C.
Step 2
Now open the landscape photo.
Step 3
Paste in the buffered sky by pressing Ctrl + V. Resize both photos if necessary. This can be done in two ways:
- Select Image and Image Size from the main menu. Change the Width and Height parameters;
- apply a free transformation Ctrl + T to one of the layers, then move the cursor over any selection node and, moving the mouse, resize the photo.
Step 4
Go to the sky layer and reduce its opacity to 50%. Using the tool Move Tool ("Move"), select a suitable position relative to the landscape. Remember that the sky is paler near the horizon than directly overhead.
Step 5
From the main menu choose Layer, Layer Mask and Reveal All. Thus, you have applied a mask to the sky layer. Press D to set the default colors on the toolbar. Select the Brush Tool ("Brush"), on the property bar set the hardness to 100% and the appropriate size. Start painting over the sky layer where it overlaps the landscape layer. If you painted over too much, it doesn't matter: set the foreground color to white and paint over the details of the landscape.
Step 6
Now you need to change the color settings of the layers so that they blend harmoniously with each other. In this case, it is enough to change the transparency of the sky layer. If fine-tuning is required, select in the main menu Image, Adjustments and the commands Level, Color Balance, Hue / Saturation. Move the sliders to change the colors of both photos until you are satisfied with the result.
