Hotkeys are preset keyboard shortcuts for quick and easy action. There are many standard keyboard shortcuts that are automatically built into every program. However, it is often required for a specific user to automate the execution of commands from a different set. This can be done by setting your own hotkeys. The combination for launching applications can be set using Windows OS tools. To assign keys for other operations, there is a special utility Hot Keyboard Pro.

Step 1
The assignment of a hotkey for executing a program launch can be performed using the operating system. To do this, on the desktop, on the shortcut of this program, open the menu with the right mouse button. Select "Properties" in it. In the window that appears, open the "Shortcut" tab and activate the "Shortcut" field with the mouse. Sequentially on the keyboard, press the keys that you assign to start the program. This field will display their combination. Save the assignments with the "OK" button.
Step 2
To assign hotkeys to other operations, use the free Hot Keyboard Pro utility. To do this, download it from the official developer resource and install it on your system.
Step 3
Run the Hot Keyboard Pro utility executable file. The installation wizard will open first. Use it to set the necessary parameters for the utility: specify the type of your keyboard, define the OS macros you need. If desired, set passwords for encrypting macros.
Step 4
In the Hot Keyboard Pro working window, assign the required key combination to a specific action. To do this, click on the "New Macro" button.
Step 5
A windowed application will open on the screen. Here, specify the name of the macro to be created, set the key combination, type and parameters of the action, as well as the mode of operation of the assigned "hot" key. Save the entered data with the "Ok" button.
Step 6
The created macro will appear in the main window of the utility. It specifies the execution of the specified action when the assigned hotkey is pressed. If desired, set the schedule for the macro using the "Schedule" mode.
