Instructions

Step 1

In order to adjust the operation of the mouse buttons and change the default settings, go to the appropriate program. Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. You will see shortcuts of all computer interfaces. Select the "Mouse" button: double-click on it with the left button.

Step 2

Here is the mouse control menu. By default, the standard functions of the buttons are set: the left one is used to select characters, drag and drop them, and also to open programs. The right button opens a menu of additional tasks that can be performed with the selected object. This arrangement of commands is convenient for those who use a mouse with the right hand. If you are left-handed, you can easily change the meaning of the main buttons by checking the "Change button assignments" line. This feature is adjusted in the Mouse Button Configuration section. After setting the required command, confirm your action by clicking "Apply" and "OK".

Step 3

In the "Mouse Buttons" section, you can customize the controls based on your preferences. Select the speed at which double-clicking will open folders. By adjusting the position of the pointer between "above" and "below", on the open layout in front of you, select the optimal speed of opening the folder and click "OK". You can check the convenience of the settings in the same control window by clicking on the virtual folder located next to the markup.

Step 4

Turn on sticky mouse if you don't feel like clicking on a folder every time you work. Hovering the cursor over the required shortcut will highlight it, and pressing the left button once will open the folder or activate the program.

Step 5

If your mouse has an additional button, use it to replace the double click of the left mouse button.

Step 6

You can adjust the cursor movement speed in the Pointer Options section of the mouse control menu. Adjust the position of the pointer on the speed mark between "higher" and "lower". Click "Apply" and "OK", choosing a speed convenient for you.
