Sometimes situations arise when you need to transfer an already installed program to another computer. To do this, you can use additional software, such as the free PickMeApp utility. This program allows you to "capture" programs installed on your computer and "restore" them to another system.

Instructions

Step 1

Install and run the PickMeApp program on your computer. During startup, the utility will scan your computer, and a complete list of programs installed on your computer will be displayed in the left pane.

Step 2

Find in this list the program (or several at once) that you want to move, and mark it with a tick. Then click "Capture marked application" and wait for the utility to collect all the necessary information and place the program in the archive. As a result, the utility will create one archive with the tap extension. This archive is located in the PickMeApp folder in the TAPPS subdirectory.

Step 3

After the utility informs about the successful completion of the process, transfer the folder with the PickMeApp utility to another computer. You can do this using a flash drive, local network, or in any other way convenient for you.

Step 4

Run the program on the second computer and tick the application, but from the list in the right pane (all programs that were "captured" by the utility are displayed here). Then click the "Install" button. After you do this, the selected application will be unpacked and installed exactly the same as on the first computer.

Step 5

If you already have the PickMeApp utility installed on both computers, you do not need to copy the entire program folder. Instead, find the directory with the "captured" files and transfer only these files to the second computer. In this case, new archives should be added to the same folder from which you took them. By default, this is the TAPPS folder from PickMeApp. You specify the location of the PickMeApp directory yourself during the installation of the utility or in the process of copying it to another computer.
