To work with files of a certain format, a program must be installed on the computer that recognizes this format. For the game to start, the computer needs to know where to read the information it needs. In most cases, applications require installation to a local drive.

Step 1
During the installation, all the files necessary for the program to work are “recorded” on the hard disk of the computer, so there is no need to save the installed program in any additional way.
Step 2
If you are installing from removable media, insert it into a disc reader (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM). If the device reads discs automatically, then wait until the autorun. If not, open the disc and run it yourself. If the autorun file is missing, select the file called setup or install - these are files with the extension.exe.
Step 3
If you saved the installation file to your hard drive (for example, downloaded it from the Internet) or to a flash card (which is not of fundamental importance), run the installation file by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Wait for the installation wizard window to open.
Step 4
Follow the installation instructions: select a folder on the local drive where the files necessary for the correct operation of the program will be saved, confirm the installation. Wait for all files to be extracted to the directory you specified. Restart your computer if required.
Step 5
In some cases, programs can be installed from virtual disks. This requires using special programs (Nero, Alcohol, Daemon Tools, and so on) to create a virtual disk and mount a disk image with the program on it. Further - the installation principle is similar to that described.
Step 6
After installing the program, you should run it from the directory in which it was installed. Navigate to the desired folder and left-click on the icon with the name of the program (for example, MilkShape.exe, Photoshop.exe, and so on).
Step 7
To avoid opening multiple folders each time looking for a program, place a shortcut to the startup file on the Desktop. To do this, click on the startup file icon - [file name].exe - with the right mouse button, in the drop-down menu, select "Send", in the submenu - "Desktop (create a shortcut)".
