In order to designate an object (picture, piece of text, 3D model), a selection is used. This is how the user "makes it clear" to the program for which element the commands should be executed. In the Adobe Photoshop application, the same method is used: the code needs to change a fragment of the image, it is selected, after the operations are completed, the selection is deselected.
Instructions
Step 1
To select the desired area of the image in the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop, a number of tools are used, and there is also a separate item in the menu. Switching to the desired tool can be done using the mouse or keyboard hotkeys (M, W, and so on).
Step 2
There are several ways to remove the selection. First way: select one of the image selection tools on the panel: rectangular selection or lasso selection. Make sure the tool menu is set to New selection and just click anywhere or outside of the image with the left mouse button. The selection will be deselected.
Step 3
Another way: right-click on the selected area of the image. In the context menu, select the Deselect command. The same command can be invoked from the menu bar.
Step 4
On the Select menu, expand the context menu. Select the Deselect item by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Also, this operation can be performed using hotkeys. Press the key combination Ctrl and D on the keyboard - the selection will be deselected.
Step 5
If you are in the mode of transforming an object, first accept or reject the changes by double-clicking the left mouse button anywhere in the document. Or select any tool on the panel, a request will appear in a new window, click the corresponding button in it. Then follow the steps outlined above.
Step 6
To remove part of the selection, select one of the selection tools and make sure that the Subtract from selection mode is active (literally - "Subtract from selection"). While holding down the left mouse button, select the area from which you want to deselect. After you release the left mouse button, the outlined fragment will be excluded from the selection area.
