Sometimes users put important information in the archive, protect it with a password, and after a while forget the password. It's sad, because without a password, access to the data in the archive will not work. However, not all is lost: there are ways to try to recover a forgotten password and save your data.
Instructions
Step 1
Unfortunately, the only way to get a hopelessly lost password from an archive, be it rar or zip, is to brute force it until the correct password is guessed. This method is not the most reliable, because you can never go through all the combinations of characters, and, in any case, a long one (unless, of course, your password is "123"). However, there are some simple tips to reduce the time it takes to pick it up.
Step 2
First, try to remember (or find out in another way) all possible information about the password, such as: its length (at least approximate), the type of symbols used (numbers, letters), the password language and its case.
Step 3
Having received this clarifying data, download a program that performs brute-force attacks (or, more simply, brute force). For example, RAR Password Recovery Magic, which can enumerate passwords using a dictionary, which is useful if the password was a meaningful word.
Step 4
Specify the brute-force restrictions for the program, based on the information obtained in step 2. Remember, the fewer characters the program has to brute-force, the higher the chance of password recovery.
Step 5
Wait until the end of the process (it may take years or even centuries).
