Strikethrough is often applied to a piece of text in a blog or website post that is perceived as "thinking out loud" by the author. As a rule, such a text contains a rougher or distorted formulation of the main idea of the text. To design such text, special HTML tags are used.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your site or blog supports HTML editing mode and is currently configured for it. If messages are entered in visual editor mode, switch, otherwise tags are not converted.
Step 2
The simplest strikethrough tags look like this: Strikethrough text. In place of the example words, insert your own phrase that you want to cross out. Check the status of tags in preview mode.
Step 3
Change the tags to make strikethrough text smaller than the main text. The new option is: Strikethrough text. Instead of tags, you can use the following:. One means the number of pixels by which the strikethrough text will decrease.
Step 4
The following code helps to change the color of strikethrough text: TEXT. Instead of the word “gray”, you can put the English name or HTML-code of any other color you like. When pasting the code shown here, the text will be grayed out.
Step 5
You can change the color for text separately from the underline. In other words, the text can remain gray and the underline red, as, for example, in these tags: Your text. By replacing the words “red” and “gray” with different names or codes according to the blog's color scheme and the purpose of the post, you can achieve other combinations.
