Surely everyone at least once faced with the inaccessibility of files on a USB flash drive. There may be many reasons for this (incorrect extraction, physical damage, accidentally deleted files), but there is still hope to recover the coveted data.

Instructions
Step 1
First, don't make unnecessary movements. The less file manipulations you have done after data damage or loss, the easier and more likely recovery is to recover. Do not format the USB flash drive, and if you formatted it, then do not write new data to it. Recovering deleted data is easier than recovering deleted data after formatting.
Step 2
If you did not delete the data, but access to it is denied, and a system warning about an error appears, then try restarting your computer (sometimes it even helps). When that doesn't work, remove the USB stick in the correct way and reinsert it.
Step 3
If this does not help, then it is necessary to conduct a "check of the removable disk". To do this, in the "My Computer" window, right-click on the flash drive icon and select "Properties". In the window that appears, select the "Service" tab and click on "Check". Check the boxes "Automatically fix system errors", "Check and repair bad sectors" and run the scan.

If access to the files is still closed, then you need to resort to the help of specialized programs. Also, such programs can (not always) recover files deleted manually and after formatting. Most of these programs are easy to use and intuitive. The probability of recovering lost files depends on many factors, but the chance is decent. One drawback is that the vast majority of such software products are paid or shareware, but almost all of them allow you to try them on several files.

Download and use one of the following programs:

- Recuva;
- PC Inspector File Recovery (free);
- Undelete Plus;
- Unstoppable Copier.
Step 6
There is a chance that where one utility fails, another will help. If lost or damaged data was dear to you, then do not be lazy and try several recovery programs.
