Step 1

If you already have one operating system installed, then prepare your computer to install the second OS. Create an additional partition on your hard drive. Download and install the Partition Manager program.

Step 2

Run the application. Open the "Wizards" menu and select "Create Section". Activate the item "Advanced user mode" and click the "Next" button. Select the hard disk or its partition from which the unallocated space will be separated. Click "Next".

Step 3

Set the size of the future local disk. If you are going to install Windows XP, the disk size must be at least 20 GB. For Windows Vista and Seven, the minimum recommended plank is 35 GB.

Step 4

Activate the function "Create as logical partition". Click "Next". Specify the file system type for the future volume and click Next. To close the partition creation program, click the Finish button.

Step 5

Find the "Apply Pending Changes" button and click it to start the process of creating a new partition.

Step 6

Now insert the disc that contains the operating system installation files and restart your computer. Install the new operating system on a specially created partition for this purpose.

Step 7

Start a new operating system. Open the control panel. Go to the "System" menu. Open the Advanced System Settings submenu. Open the "Startup and Recovery" section and click the "Options" button.

Activate the "Display a list of installed operating systems at boot time" function. Click the Apply button. Now after restarting the computer, the operating system selection window will appear.
