The taskbar serves not only for the location of the Start button and the tray (on the right side of the taskbar, where the icons of some resident running applications are located). The taskbar can also be used to place shortcuts on it for quick launch of many programs - this is very convenient when you do not need to look for some program in different folders, but simply launch it from the panel with one click of the mouse.
Instructions
Step 1
Icons can be found in the notification area and in the control panel on the left. Accordingly, they can disappear from the first place, and from the second. Let's look at the case when the icons on the launcher disappeared, and how to restore them.
Step 2
Call the properties of the "Taskbar", then in the "Taskbar" menu in the "Design of the taskbar" field, find the item "display the panel …..". If this item is not ticked, then put it on and click on the "OK" button. On the left of the "Taskbar", the "Launchpad" should appear, if it was already there, and you have already placed some icons on it, then these icons should have been saved. If there is a checkmark on the item "Show Quick Launch", but there are no icons, then it means that they were simply removed from the panel. If so, then follow the next steps: left-click on the desired program icon and hold, drag the icon to the "Quick Launch". All, thus, transfer all the necessary icons.
Step 3
Now the case is when the icons are gone from the notification area (tray). The notification area contains icons such as Volume, Local Area Connection, Wireless Network Connection, and more. If the “Volume” icon disappeared, then use this instruction: click on “Start”, then on the “Control Panel” item, then “Sound and Audio Devices”, then on the “Volume” submenu (tab), check the box “Display icon …..
Step 4
If the "Network Connection" icon disappeared: the "Start" menu, then "Control Panel", then "Network Connections", on the desired local connection, right-click, then "Properties", in the "General" tab, just check the boxes "Notify when …." and "When connected, display ….". Basically, these two icons disappear, but if any others are missing, then look for a solution to the problem in the settings of the program whose icon has disappeared.
