You can take a screenshot by pressing a special key on the keyboard, but this is only one of the stages of this operation. That is why users quite often cannot subsequently find a screenshot on a computer.
Instructions
Step 1
To take a screenshot and later find it on the computer, press the Print Screen (PrtSc) key on the keyboard at the right time. Now the image is in the clipboard - the internal memory of the system, but not yet as a finished file that can be viewed or edited. To complete the operation, open the Paint image editor and perform the "Paste" action (Ctrl + V). Now the screenshot can be saved by selecting the desired folder on your hard drive.
Step 2
Remember the name of the folder with the saved image to find the screenshot on your computer. After exiting the image editor, be sure to go to it and check for the presence of the file with the name that you assigned it in the program.
Step 3
If you are still having difficulty finding screenshots on your computer, use the system search service. Go to the search bar in the Start menu and enter the name of the file in whole or in part of its name. If you do not remember the name, in the advanced search settings specify the appropriate parameters, such as the date and time of the saved screenshot, the image format you made when editing the tag, etc. This way you can quickly find the screenshot on your computer.
Step 4
You can find out where screenshots are stored on your computer in other ways. First, check the Pictures folder in Documents where all pictures are saved by default. Second, try opening Paint or another program in which you edited and saved this image again. Click on "File" and notice the "Recent Images" tab on the right. The top-most file is most likely a recently saved screenshot. Open it and save it again, indicating this time a convenient location on your computer, which you can easily navigate to in the future.
