The Found New Hardware Wizard appears during the initial installation of any hardware on the system. Usually, after the first launch and successful installation of the drivers for the device, it no longer appears. But there are times when the installed driver is not suitable for the installed equipment. In this case, every time the operating system boots, a Found New Hardware Wizard will appear.

It is necessary

  • - Internet access
  • - driver disk

Instructions

Step 1

When the Found New Hardware Wizard appears, allow it to connect to Windows Update. To do this, simply select the answer "Yes, only this time" and click the "next" button. Windows will search for the correct drivers and, if possible, provide an unattended installation. It may happen that the necessary drivers are not available on Windows Update. Then go to step 2.

Step 2

Go to "device manager". To do this, right-click on the icon with the image of a computer "My Computer" on the desktop, select "Properties", then the tab "Hardware" and click the button "Device Manager". In the window that opens, look for the problem device. It will be indicated by an exclamation mark.

Step 3

Open the properties of the device by double clicking, go to the "information" tab and select the item "equipment IDs" in the drop-down menu. Highlight the first code and press Ctrl + C to copy.

Step 4

Go to the site www.devid.info, paste the copied code into the search box and click "search". Select the required driver from the list, download and install. If there are several drivers, download the ones that best fit the description of the hardware and install them. If there are failures, you can always use System Restore. It is located here: Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore

Step 5

If the previous methods are ineffective, you can disable the start of the Found New Hardware Wizard. To do this, do everything as usual: allow connection to Windows Update, select automatic installation. But on the last page, you don't have to click the "done" button right away. First, you need to check the box next to the "do not remind me to install this equipment" item. In this case, the master will no longer appear.

Step 6

Disable the device in Device Manager. How to open the device manager is described in paragraph 2. Right-click on the problem device (it will be with an exclamation mark). Select Disable Device. Answer yes to the system's question. This device will no longer bother you.
