If, for some unknown reason, your computer has stopped "seeing" the hard drive, there are several reasons for this malfunction. The winchester is out of order, the power cable and data cable are not connected tightly, the sata controller is disabled in the motherboard BIOS. In the first option, you will most likely have to change the device, in the second, check the cable, and in the third, set the BIOS settings correctly.

Step 1
Go to the BIOS of your computer. To do this, immediately after switching on, press Del on the keyboard. On some motherboards, the special key for entering the BIOS may be different - read the instructions on the screen after turning on the computer. As a rule, it may not work the first time, so you will need to try again. Try to press the button frequently immediately after turning off your computer.
Step 2
After entering the BIOS section, find the Integrated Peripherals item or any that, in meaning, corresponds to the integrated devices. This item contains items for setting parameters related to the internal capabilities of the motherboard. Find the Onboard SATA Controller entry. Or any record containing the words SATA Controller. Check the options for this parameter - usually these are Enabled and Disabled, Enabled and Disabled, respectively. Set all parameters carefully. Press the Enter key to confirm.
Step 3
Set the Onboard SATA Controller to Enabled and save the BIOS changes by pressing F10 and enter, or by going to Exit and selecting Save changes. If you do not press this button, the system will automatically offer you to save all the changes that have been made. After restarting the computer, go to the BIOS again, as you did in the first paragraph, and check if the hard drive is detected. This can be done in the item Standard CMOS Features or Standard CMOS Setup, usually this item is located first in the list. In general, we can say that it is not difficult to turn on the sata controller on a personal computer, the main thing is to understand a little about the BIOS system.
