Step 1
You can enable the SATA operating mode in the BIOS menu of the motherboard. Turn on your computer. Immediately after turning on the power, you need to press the Del key. Depending on your motherboard model, there may be other options instead of the Del key. You can find out more about this in the documentation for your motherboard or on the manufacturer's website.
Step 2
Depending on the motherboard model, the option to enable SATA mode may be in different sections. Basically, this option is found in the Configuration tab. In this tab, find the line On Chip Sata Chanel. Set this to Enable, which means Enabled. The line On Chip Sata type should also be located next to it. In this line, you need to select in which SATA mode your hard drive will work.

It is recommended to choose Native IDE from all available options. Hard disk performance in this mode is usually faster. Also in the list of possible modes there may be AHCI, which guarantees the fastest possible operation of the hard drive. Officially supported only on Windows Vista and Windows 7. If AHCI is listed, opt for it. After selecting the desired option, exit the BIOS, while making sure to save all the settings. The computer will reboot and the hard drive will then operate in the mode you selected.

If you have chosen AHCI mode, and after exiting the BIOS and saving all the settings, the computer is constantly rebooting, then you need to choose a different SATA interface. This is due to the fact that in some cases, for the correct operation of the AHCI mode, it is necessary to download separate drivers, which can be found on the website of the motherboard manufacturer. In this case, select Native IDE. Later, if necessary, you can download drivers and install AHCI. Sometimes it may be necessary to reinstall the operating system.
