Step 1
Crashes in the Windows operating system usually occur when installing new programs, updating the system, or under the influence of viruses and Trojans. Many users encounter the situation when the keyboard layout switch disappears from the tray. To restore, open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Regional and Language Options" - "Languages" - "More".
Step 2
Select the "Options" section, click the "Language bar" button. Check the box next to "Display language bar on desktop". Save your changes, the layout indicator should reappear in the tray.

Sometimes the Language Bar button is grayed out. This happens if the ctfmon.exe file, which is responsible for the functioning of the language panel, is not running. The file is always located in the folder: С: / Windows / System32. Open this directory, find the ctfmon.exe file and run it. The Language Bar button will become available. In this case, the file start line will be added to startup, at each system start, this program will start automatically, as it happened before the crash.

If you cannot restore the display of the layout indicator for some reason, there is a very simple way to get around this problem - search the Internet and install the Punto Switcher program. Unlike the standard keyboard layout switcher, this small utility provides many additional features.
