In the Windows operating system, the user of an account that has been assigned administrator rights can set restrictions on the rights of users of other groups to perform any operations with objects in a specific folder. In addition to operations with file system objects, the latest versions of the operating system have added the ability to limit the time that a particular user can work on a computer and create a list of programs available to him.

Step 1
If you have administrator rights, to impose restrictions on operations with objects in a directory, right-click the required folder in Explorer and select Properties from the context menu. The file manager will open a window in which you need to go to the "Security" tab and click the "Change" button for the program to open another window.

In the "Groups or Users" list, select the line that belongs to a specific account or a group to which it belongs. Then, in the second list, place the allow or deny checkboxes opposite the operation names and click the OK button.

Another way to restrict account rights is implemented in Windows 7 and Vista. It is called "Parental Control" and allows you to set restrictions on the time you use your computer and start computer games and programs. To access the settings of this administration tool, open the main menu, type "genus" and click on the "Parental Controls" link in the search results.

One of the Control Panel applets will appear on the screen with a list of accounts registered in this operating system - select the one for which you want to set restrictions. On the next page loaded by the system application, click on the Time Limits link if you want to set the allowed hours for this user. The applet will show a grid of hours of the day and days of the week, in which you need to mark the forbidden periods with the mouse, and then click the OK button.

To enter restrictions on the launch of games, click on the "Games" link. To completely ban games for this account, check the "No" box next to the corresponding question. If you need to prohibit any specific games, use the link "Prohibition and permission of games". Another link, “Set Categories for Games”, contains a long list of rules that allow you to customize the filter of allowed games with varying degrees of granularity - from as detailed as “mentions or images of tobacco products” to the abstract “For all”.

The link "Allowing and blocking specific programs" allows you to impose restrictions on the use of applications installed on the system. Click on it, and then check the box "can only work with permitted programs." It will take some time for the applet to compile a list of programs, in which you need to check the checkboxes of the allowed applications. Then click OK and close the Control Panel window.
