Instructions

Step 1

If one or more gadgets are missing from the desktop, try restoring them by turning them on again. To manage the standard set of gadgets in Windows, there is a separate component that can be launched from the "Control Panel". Open the main menu of the OS and select the item with the panel name in the right column, and in the window that opens, click on the inscription "Design and personalization". On the next page of the panel, click on the Add Gadgets to Desktop link in the Desktop Gadgets section.

Step 2

In the window that opens with a set of gadget icons, select the desired gadget. You can restore its display on the desktop either by simply dragging and dropping, or by right-clicking the icon and selecting the "Add" command in the context menu.

Step 3

The list of gadgets may turn out to be empty if they were removed from the desktop in the wrong way - using the “Delete” item in the context menu of gadgets icons. In this case, you will have to restore the set of gadgets. Fortunately, this is very easy to do. In the "Toolbars" page described in the first step, next to the link "Add gadgets to the desktop" there is also "Restore desktop gadgets installed by Windows" - select it, and the OS will again populate the list of preinstalled gadgets.

Step 4

If all gadgets disappeared from the desktop, and not one or several, check if their display is disabled in the GUI settings. To do this, open the context menu of the desktop - right-click on the background image. The top item "View" in the menu opens an additional section in which there is an item "Display desktop gadgets". Check for a check mark in front of this line, and if not, select this item.
