Windows Gadgets allows you to activate various panels to access certain functions and programs on your system. Some gadgets allow you to monitor the state of the computer and the system as a whole, watch the temperature of the equipment. Applets are a good and functional way to decorate your desktop.
Instructions
Step 1
Gadgets on Windows operating systems are saved in the Gadgets directory. You can find it by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the Computer section. After that click on "Local drive C:". In the list of folders that appears, select Program files - Windows Sidebar. In this directory you will find the directory you need.
Step 2
On Windows, downloadable gadget files usually have the.gadget extension. To install a new element for the desktop, download the required file from the Internet, and then double-click on it with the left mouse button.

In the dialog box that appears, click the "Install" button and wait for the message about the successful installation of the extension to appear. After that, the gadget will appear on the desktop. By clicking the left mouse button on the element that appears, you can make the necessary settings to work with the resulting applet.
Step 4
You can manage the installed elements by right-clicking on a free area of the desktop and selecting the "Gadgets" section. Then you will see a window listing all the applets on your computer. To activate any of them, drag the selected gadget to the desktop using the left mouse button.
Step 5
To remove an item from the list, in the "Gadgets" window, right-click on it, and then click on the "Delete" button in the context menu. This action will erase the selected applet from the system.
Step 6
To install the gadget, you can also move the downloaded file to the Gadget directory. Extensions copied there are automatically added to the list and can be used in the system. By deleting a particular file from this directory, you also remove it from the list of applets.
