Today 3G / 4G Internet has already become a very dense part of our life. Tariffs for mobile Internet are becoming more and more affordable, high-speed Internet coverage is steadily growing, but nevertheless, many settlements still have poor or unstable 3G signals. In such settlements and hamlets, you can try to use an external 3G / 4G antenna and get an amplification of the 3G modem signal, and therefore a stable high-speed Internet.

- -Smartphone for android with 3G / 4G support;
- -installed speedtest program on a smartphone;
- -3G modem;
- -SIM card or several from different operators.
Instructions
Step 1
Research needs to be done on which operators and where in your home work best. Take a SIM card with connected Internet service of all available operators, a smartphone with an android and the installed speedtest program and go around the whole house in search of the best signal. Then take the stairs and walk around the house and plot from all sides and heights. It is possible that with a weak edge signal in the house, you will get quite stable 3G under the roof on the corner of the house. Repeat this procedure for all operators.
Step 2
Once you find a point with a stable signal level and satisfactory internet speed, you can decide which equipment to choose to amplify or stabilize the internet signal. If this point is in the house, then you can simply move the modem to this place, either by moving the laptop with the modem, or by purchasing a simple usb extension cable for the modem. Please note that the longer the usb cable for the modem, the higher the likelihood of problems with the modem. If the point of reliable reception is outside the house, then you cannot do without a special external antenna.
Step 3
The simplest solution for an external antenna would be to purchase an inexpensive kit with a block for installing a regular usb modem. This option is good because it will fit any USB modem, there is no need to look for special adapters for connecting external antennas. The antenna is mounted on the facade of the house or on the mast and directed towards the nearest cell tower. Or taking a laptop and armed with a modem program and a browser version of the speedtest program, the best antenna direction is tuned. Thus, I managed to achieve a stable 3G Internet at a speed of up to 8 megabits in a village house, where, without an antenna, the signal showed only EDGE and at the same time was constantly cut off.
