Frame per second (FPS) is the number of frames per second, i.e. the refresh rate of the game picture on the monitor. The effectiveness of your Counter Strike game depends on this value. Therefore, you need not only to play well, but also to know how to properly set up your computer in order to win.

Instructions

Step 1

Please note that the optimal value of the FPS parameter for Counter Strike is 101. The accuracy of your hitting a target that is moving depends on this parameter. For example, if you have a value of 60, then your picture on the monitor will differ from reality, i.e. you see the player in one place, and his real location is a little to the right or to the left, because he is in motion.

Step 2

Enter two commands in the console to view the fps: fps_max 101, as well as cl_showfps 1. Now look at the upper left corner, numbers will appear in it. If the value is 99, then you don't need to change Fps. If you have 60 fps, this may be due to the limitations set by the video card for CS 1.6.

Step 3

Increase fps by downloading and installing the latest drivers for your video card. Next, go to display properties and disable vertical sync in the video card settings. Click Apply.

Step 4

Go to the main menu, select the "Run" option, enter the Regedit command, then find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE branch and open the branch corresponding to your video card, for example, / NVIDIA Corporation / Global / NVTweak. Create a key, name it NvCplDisableRefreshRatePage, set it to 0.

Step 5

Call the properties of the desktop, go to the video card settings, find the Refresh Rate Overrides item. Check the box in the Override refresh rates item, opposite the desired resolution that is used in the COP, set the frequency to 100 Hz. Please note that this parameter must match the type of monitor.

Step 6

Write down the FPS value in the game itself. To do this, right-click on the executable file of the game, select "Properties". Then click on the "Set Launch Options" button. Write the following here: -freq 75 or 100 (depending on your monitor settings).
