DECT telephones with the GAP extension are designed in such a way that any base can be connected to any handset. True, the charging connectors for the tubes of different manufacturers are different. How the handset pairs with the base depends on its menu structure.
Instructions
Step 1
If a DECT machine does not support the GAP standard, only one handset can be connected to it, and only from a machine of the same model. Place the charged handset on the base and then turn off and on the power supply. Wait until the handset beeps and the antenna icon on its screen stops flashing. Now it is paired with the base, and the previous one is no longer paired.
Step 2
If the device supports the GAP standard, several handsets can be connected to one base, and pairing is carried out through the menu. In case the handset is not compatible with the base according to the standard of the connector, use a special separate charging base that does not contain radio transmitting units to charge it.
Step 3
On Panasonic machines, to pair the handset with the base, proceed as follows. Find in the handset menu an item called “Handset registration” or similar. Select this item. At the base, find a special miniature button, which cannot be pressed with your finger - you must use a fountain pen. If there is no such button, use the "intercom" button. If there is no such button, use the search base button. Press on it and hold for a few seconds.
Step 4
If the handset search function is triggered, it means that you did not hold down the button long enough. Press the same button two times again - the first time briefly, and the second time for a longer time than in the previous failed attempt.
Step 5
The registration code entry form will appear on the handset screen. Enter it. If you have not previously changed this code in the memory of the base, it has the value 0000. If the code 0000 did not fit, inspect the base from all sides - perhaps the registration code is written right on it. In case, if you cannot find the code, contact any of the official workshops of the manufacturer. Be sure to provide a base to the center so that the specialists make sure that it is really yours, and that you are not trying to connect to the neighbors' base.
Step 6
If it turns out that the code had a value of 0000, change it to a new one and write it down on the bottom of the database. Do not show it to your neighbors if they come to visit you.
