Epson inkjet printers are widely used in both home and office environments. With significant volumes of printing, inkjet cartridges quickly run out, so the question of refilling them is relevant.
Instructions
Step 1
Epson inkjet cartridges are of two types: with a foam sponge inside the cartridge and with a capillary structure. The first type includes representatives of the old line of office and home printers (Color 820/400/440/460/480/600/640/660/740/760/1160), old professional photo printers (Photo 700/750/780/790/870 / 890/970, etc.) and new budget home photo printing devices (C20 / 40/42/43, etc.). The second type includes new office printers (C63 / 65/67/70/80/83/84/86/87), old professional (Photo 950 and 2100) and new professional devices (Photo R200 / 220/300/320, etc. etc.), as well as simple household models such as R240. Determine what type your ink cartridges are.
Step 2
If you have Type 1 Genuine Epson ink cartridges, remove them from the printer. How to perform this operation can be found in the user manual. Next, take a piece of cotton wool soaked in resuscitation fluid or distilled water and place it on the printer's ink collector. Turn off the printer properly.
Step 3
Fill the prepared syringe with ink of a specific color. Locate the filler holes - they are located in the grooves under the label. If they are sealed with a layer of plastic, use a thin drill or awl. Insert the needle to the middle of the cartridge.
Step 4
Slowly inject the ink into the cartridge so that the sponge has time to absorb it. Do this until a drop of ink appears at the puncture site. Gently remove the needle and wipe the puncture site with a rag. Then cover it with duct tape. Be careful to keep the air vents on the top cover of the cartridge open.
Step 5
Remove excess ink from the cartridge. To do this, insert a match into the outlet of the cartridge, and after placing it in a container, press on the body. The ink will drain for about 1 minute.
Step 6
Insert the cartridge into the printer by removing the cotton wool from the fittings. If you intend to store the cartridge, cover the outlet with tape and place it in a sealed bag with the outlet facing down.
Step 7
If you have Genuine Epson Type 2 ink cartridges, repeat the steps in step 2. Then take out two medical syringes and a rubber eraser. Use a sharp knife to make a triangular notch in the outlet of one of the syringes. Put the needle on the second syringe and prick an eraser on it, which must be moved to the middle of the needle.
Step 8
Tear off the blue sticker covering the openings on the cartridge. There are two transparent circles underneath. Insert the # 1 syringe (notched) into the hole closest to the cartridge locking latch. Puncture the second hole with a syringe # 2 (with an eraser) to a depth of no more than 2 cm. Remove the plunger from syringe # 2 and pour ink of a certain color inside. You will need 10 to 35 ml of ink, depending on the specific model.
Step 9
Press the # 1 syringe against the hole and pump out the ink, ensuring the seal with an eraser. Do this until syringe # 1 contains ink with little or no air bubbles.
Step 10
After refueling, seal the puncture site, press down on the blue shell and turn the cartridge over. If ink does not start to drain after five minutes, insert the cartridge into the printer.
