Step 1

Flip the scanner over to the back, remove the screws and carefully remove the cover. Below it, you will see the main scanner block.

Step 2

Take out the plastic block holder and unscrew the screw. Remove the cables and cables that connect to the board. Do this with care as the wires can break easily.

Step 3

Loosen the screw and remove the scanner power cord from the connector. On the reverse side, remove the ribbon holder and unscrew the screw, on the right and left unscrew one screw each.

Step 4

Remove the scanner unit. There are fragile elements in the scanner, carefully remove the rest of the block.

Step 5

Turn the scanner unit over to its back. Locate the control board and disconnect all loops from it. Turn the scanner over and use a screwdriver to pry the panel, carefully pull it out. Tighten the screws at the base of the cover to remove the glass.

Step 6

Remove the scanner guide from the slots. Unscrew the 2 screws and remove the tension. Gently wipe the mirrors with a glass cleaner.

Step 7

Carry out the necessary repair or preventive measures. Clean the block IC and lubricate the rails with machine oil if necessary.

Reassemble in reverse order, following the instructions exactly.

Plug in the power cord and turn on your scanner. Most flatbed scanners have a self-test feature. Check the instructions for your scanner.

Connect the scanner to your computer. Install original drivers and software. You can find the software in the disk attached to the scanner or download it from the official website.
