Step 1
Make sure you have headphones or speakers and a microphone. The microphone can be built into the webcam or stand alone. The headset is especially convenient for Skype. In Skype, you can also communicate simply using the keyboard and mouse, as in ordinary web pagers such as ICQ. At the same time, you will be able to see and hear your interlocutor if he has a camera and a microphone. However, the main highlight of Skype is voice and video communication, so it is better to have at least a microphone.
Step 2
Go to the website of the program manufacturer skype.com. In the top menu, select Get Skype, in the drop-down menu, select your operating system or the type of mobile device on which you want to install the program for communication.
Step 3
On the loaded page, select the download options: you can download a free limited in features (but not in time of use) version of the program or a paid extended version. Save the distribution kit of the program on your computer, it takes about 22 MB.
Step 4
Run the installation file and install skype on your computer. At the first start, you will be prompted to enter your username and password or register. To register, you must have an email address.
Step 5
In the contact list, you will immediately have a special Skype service that will allow you to test the audio communication. Make a test call to see if your microphone and headphones or speakers are working properly. Do not forget to enable them first.
