Nowadays, the Internet makes it possible not only to find the information you need, but also to communicate with different people. For several years now, the most popular program has been Skype, which allows you not only to communicate through written messages, but also in audio and video formats.
Instructions
Step 1
To connect headphones on Skype, you must first deal with the pins at its end. If these are headphones with a microphone, then at the end you can see two plugs (usually one green, the other red). In this case, they must be inserted into the corresponding color slots of the sound card, which is usually located at the bottom of the system unit. Most often, the color of the headphone pin is green and the microphone pin is red, but this is not the rule. After successfully completing this step, log into Skype.
Step 2
It is unlikely that the headphones and microphone will work right away. It is necessary to work in the program settings menu to achieve the final result. To do this, go to the "Tools" tab, then "Settings" and, finally, "Sound Settings". A menu with sound settings will appear in front of you. To configure the microphone, in the drop-down list on the right, select the brand of the desired device that you have connected. Next, in the "Speakers" section, select your headphones. If everything worked out, then you can calmly communicate.
Step 3
Often, the drop-down list does not contain the devices that you would like to use during a call. There are problems for this. The main problem is that the computer simply did not find drivers for the connected equipment. The most common and convenient driver for a sound system, including headphones, is Realtek HD. It is freely available on the Internet. You should install this program, and use its interface to define all the necessary sound devices. Another common problem that pops up when connecting headphones is your operating system. Therefore, before downloading Skype, look carefully to see if it is suitable for your system. If Skype does not fit your system, then no headphone drivers will save the day until an adapted Skype system appears on the computer.
Step 4
Finally, Skype has a Sound Test Service program in your contact list. With it, you can check the quality of the headphones and the audio system as a whole.
