WiFi connects to a laptop or PC via an access point, a special device that is sold separately. When choosing an access point, you need to proceed from the technology by which the network is connected on your computer. The simplest ways to connect to the internet are via ADSL and Ethernet. The first method is to connect via an ADSL modem, which has a built-in WiFi adapter. The second is connecting through a router that supports WiFi.

Step 1
Connecting an access point via ADSL modem:
Turn on the modem, reset the factory settings so that the modem is configured by default, click "Obtain an IP address automatically".
We connect the modem to the network card, which receives an IP address automatically.
Step 2
In the address bar of the browser, enter the address of the modem. Most likely it is 192.168.1.1. - default. Press the Enter key. Enter the username and password to access the modem. All these data are in the instructions. This will take you to the modem settings web page.
Next, you need to change the password for the modem. Find the Management section, select the Access Control and Password item.
Step 3
Find the Advanced Setup section, select the WAN menu item, check the boxes and press the Remove button. Then we save the Save / Reboot settings and reboot the modem.
We create a new connection. To do this, you need to ask the provider for the VPI and VCI parameters. Select the type of PPPoE connection. Enter the login and password provided by the provider. Authentication Method choose AUTO. Leave MTU as default. DHCP is set "on". Enter the name of the wireless network and save the settings.
Step 4
When the modem has rebooted and all settings are correct, launch the browser and check that the Internet is available. Everything, Wi-fi in your laptop is configured.
