Setting up the Internet and connecting to it in Windows 8 is one of the simplest operations that does not require a lot of time and effort, but novice users may face some problems.
Firstly, it should be said that setting up and connecting to the Internet should be performed exclusively with administrator rights, that is, all warnings that appear during Internet setup must be confirmed by the administrator of the personal computer. In addition, the Internet connection can be made either using a dedicated cable or wirelessly using a router.
Automatic tuning
If a cable is to be used, then it must be connected to the network card of the computer using a special connector and connector. There are two connection methods (both for wireless connection and for connecting via LAN cable), these are: automatic and manual. To begin with, in the lower right corner of the desktop screen, you need to find the monitor image with a yellow exclamation mark and right-click on it. A context menu will appear, where you should select "Network and Sharing Center". A new window will open, on the left side of which you need to select "Change adapter parameter". There should be a shortcut with the name "Local Area Connection" and if there is no signature "Unidentified network" below, this means that the network adapter has successfully received all the necessary settings.
Manual setting
If you use manual configuration or if the settings were not received, then you need to go to the "Properties" of this connection. A window will appear listing the various components. You need to click on the value "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)", and then click on "Properties" again. Next, you need to check the box next to "Use the following IP address" to fill in all five fields: "IP address", "Subnet mask", "Default gateway" and DNS server addresses. Confirm the action and return to the "Network and Sharing Center". Select the item "Create and configure a new connection or network" and in the window that appears, click on "Connect to the Internet".
Here you can choose either a wireless connection or a cable connection. Next, you need to enter the "Network Name" and "Password" specified in the agreement with the provider, as well as set the name. When everything is ready in the lower right corner of the desktop, you can click on the image with the monitor and select the network to which you want to connect. If everything was done correctly, then there will be no connection problems.
