Books in djvu format are often found in electronic libraries. As a rule, they occupy a small volume, they retain the fonts and illustrations of the original. The main disadvantage of this format is that the page text is copied to the clipboard as an image. In order to edit it, you need to use other applications.
Necessary
- - computer with programs Djvu OCR, Djvu Solo, Djvu Viewer;
- - ABBYY FineReader:
- - Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions
Step 1
Almost any program that reads files of this type allows you to copy a separate page from a book in djvu format. They all have a similar interface and roughly the same functionality. Go to the top menu and find the Selection tab. There you will see the Select Region line. Select it.
Step 2
Find the page you want This can be done in the top menu window. If the page is near the beginning or end of the book, you can use the arrows. Select the desired fragment on it using the frame that appeared in front of you. Right click. You will see a drop-down menu that offers to either save the page or copy. Choose the second.
Step 3
Open Adobe Photoshop or, for example, an image viewer that has the function of creating a new file. Create a file and paste what you have in your buffer into it. Save the image as.
Step 4
Open the image in ABBYY FineReader. The more recent version of this program you have, the better. Find the "Recognize" function. When the program does this, save the file in the format you need - for example, in doc.
Step 5
Djvu OCR allows you to split the entire book into pages at once. Open the program and select the Djvu Decoder option from the menu. A window will appear in front of you. Find the Djvu File List function. Click the Add button. Indicate where the book in this format that you want to convert is located. Select Output Directory. Find the Browse button. Select the folder for the saved pages. Write the name of the folder in Latin. Click Process.
Step 6
Start ABBYY FineReader. You can open one page or all at once - this will significantly reduce the time. Click the "Recognize" button. Save the pages as separate files, or select them all and turn them into one document.
