There are several ways to connect a laptop to a stationary computer. Typically, such a connection is used to provide synchronous Internet access from both devices.
It is necessary
Network cable or Wi-Fi adapter
Instructions
Step 1
As a first example, consider a wired laptop-to-computer connection. Purchase a second network card and install it in the computer system unit. Connect it to the laptop's network adapter using a cable.
Step 2
Open the network connection settings on the laptop. Go to TCP / IPv4 Properties. Find the "IP address" field and enter 192.168.0.2 in it. Fill in the "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server" items in the same way, replacing the last segment of the address with one.
Step 3
Go to your desktop computer. Create and configure an internet connection. The cable for this connection must be connected to the first network card. Open the properties for this connection. Select the "Access" tab. Allow Internet sharing for the local network formed by the PC and laptop.
Step 4
Let's assume that you have no desire to create a wired local area network. In such situations, it is customary to use Wi-Fi adapters. These devices are of two types: internal and external. Purchase any of these. Connect the Wi-Fi adapter to your computer. Be sure to install the software and drivers that came with your hardware.
Step 5
Open the Network and Sharing Center. Go to the "Manage Wireless Networks" menu. Click the "Add" button located on the top panel of this menu. Select the Create Computer-to-Computer Network option. Enter the name (SSID) of the wireless network and the password (Password) for it. Select the type of security.
Step 6
Open the list of available wireless networks on your laptop. Connect to your network. Make the settings described in the third and fourth steps.
