The variety of display formats for laptop computers is much larger than that of desktop monitors. Depending on how you position your laptop while working, it may be more convenient to see the image on its screen rotated 90 ° to one side or the other. For different OS modifications installed in the laptop, the ways to rotate the display orientation will be different.

Step 1
If the laptop is running Windows Vista or Windows 7, then by right-clicking on the desktop space free of open windows and shortcuts, you can open the context menu, which contains the item "Screen resolution". Selecting this item launches a dialog box for changing display settings.

The required screen rotation option is placed in the drop-down list next to the "Orientation" caption - open it and select the orientation that suits you out of four possible options for rotating the image on the display. Then click the "OK" button.

In these operating systems, there is an even shorter way to rotate the image on the screen. To use it in the same context menu, opened by right-clicking on the desktop, you need to hover the cursor over the "Graphics Options" section. Among the subsections that will become visible in this case, there is "Rotation" - move the cursor over it. This gives you access to four options for changing the orientation of the screen image on your monitor. Choose the option you want.

If the laptop is running Windows XP, the way to rotate the image on the screen depends on the type of video card installed. For example, if this is one of the modifications of the NVIDIA family, then in the menu that opens when you right-click on the free space of the desktop, the item "NVIDIA Control Panel" will be present. After selecting it, and thus opening the panel, click in the list of tasks located on the left, "Rotate the display". This will give you access to a list of four standard orientation options - check the box you want and close the NVIDIA panel window.

And in Windows XP, there is also an alternative option - in the desktop tray, you need to find the video card icon and right-click. If this is an NVIDIA video card, then in the context menu there will be a section called "Rotation parameters". When you hover the cursor over it, a list of the same four options for rotating the image on the monitor screen appears - select the item you need.
