The huge variety of models of personal computers, laptops, netbooks also implies a variety of options for the geometric proportions of displays. And if we multiply this diversity by the mass of ways to use them and the variability of user tastes, it becomes clear why the operation of changing the orientation of the display screen has become a rather urgent operation. It is not difficult to implement in modern operating systems.

Instructions

Step 1

In Windows 7 or Vista, you can change the screen orientation in this way: first, right-click on an area of the desktop that is free of shortcuts. This will open the context menu, in which you should select the item "Screen resolution". The settings dialog box will appear, where next to the "Orientation" label there is a drop-down list in which you need to select one of four possible options for screen rotation. At the end of the operation, click "OK".

Step 2

And you can make it even easier - also right-click on a free area of the desktop, but select the "Graphics Options" item in the context menu. This item has sub-items, one of which is designated as "Rotate" - move the cursor over it and you will see four options for choosing to change the screen orientation. Click the one you want.

Step 3

In Windows XP, the screen orientation is changed according to the rules specified by the video card manufacturer. Therefore, the details of this procedure depend on which video card is installed in your computer. For example, for video cards of the NVIDIA family, you should right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" from the context menu. On the left side of the panel, click the link to the Rotate Display page and you will see a list of the same four options for changing the screen orientation. Check the box and close the NVIDIA panel.

Step 4

There is also an easier option - find the icon of your video card in the tray and right-click it. The context menu should contain a section for changing the orientation of the display screen. For video cards from NVIDIA, this item is called "Rotation parameters" - hover over it and click the desired option in the drop-down list.
