Correctly adjusted brightness of the monitor screen provides comfortable work and relaxation at the computer. A display that is too bright in a dark room, or a display that is too dim, desaturated, and dull, creates additional strain on the eyes. Adjusting the brightness of a PC monitor is easy - there are dedicated buttons on the monitor for that, but how do you adjust the brightness of a laptop screen?
Instructions
The Windows operating system provides two ways to change the brightness of the display on a laptop. The first way is to adjust the brightness through the function keys.
Almost all laptops have a special “Fn” key, when pressed, nothing happens. But in combination with additional buttons, it can control the volume of the sound, enable or disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and, among other things, adjust the brightness of the display. Look for a sun or halftone icon on your keyboard on two keys, usually the control arrow keys. Hold “Fn” and the key to adjust the brightness and watch the change in the brightness of the screen on the laptop. The brightness will change step by step and you can adjust it as you wish.
The second way is software. Go to the control panel, switch to small / large icons and select the "Power Options" shortcut. You will see a window for power settings and power plan selection. At the very bottom of the window, you will see a slider labeled "Screen brightness".
By dragging the slider, you can set the desired brightness level. The position of the slider on the left is the lowest brightness level (dimmed display), the position of the slider on the far right is the maximum brightness of the display.
