Step 1
Locate the buttons on the front of the monitor to adjust the screen image parameters. They can also be hidden at the bottom of the monitor, on the side, and so on, depending on the device model. Many monitors support touch control.
Step 2
Find through the menu to adjust the brightness of the screen, usually they are marked with special icons. Use the volume up or down buttons, arrow buttons, and so on to navigate through menus and adjust settings. Pay attention to the presence in your monitor model of settings for a specific mode of using the device - for reading, watching movies, working with graphics, and so on. Adjust the screen brightness settings from the utility for managing your video adapter. You can find it in the list of installed programs or from the video card management menu in the desktop settings.

If you have a netbook or laptop, use the Fn key, which, in combination with the arrow keys or the keys on the top of the F1-F12 keys, adjusts the brightness of the monitor screen.
