Step 1
The problem is that some operating systems do not include drivers for the touchpad to work properly. In such cases, you need to find and install the necessary files yourself. Use internet access and visit the official website of the company that developed this laptop. Open the section "Drivers or" Software.
Step 2
Download the file kits designed to make the touchpad work properly. If they are not available on the site, then use the drivers for the motherboard. They usually contain the files you need. Open Device Manager and go to the Mice and Other Pointing Devices menu. Open the menu of additional actions by right-clicking on the name of the touch panel.
Step 3
Select Update Drivers. Specify the folder where the files downloaded from the site were saved. Wait until the required drivers are determined and installed. Adjust the settings for the touch panel. It is usually recommended to set the optimal pressure values and pointer movement speed. Some programs automatically disable the touchpad when a computer mouse is connected. Disable this feature if you do not need it.
Step 4
Download Sam Drivers if you cannot find the correct files. Run the runthis.exe file and go to the Driver Install Assistance menu. Wait until the collection of information about connected devices is complete.
Step 5
Select the Touchpad checkbox and click the Install button. Select the Typical Installation option from the pop-up menu. Restart your computer if the touchpad does not work after installing the required files.
