Recovering Microsoft Word files may be necessary for any level of user. Office application Word allows you to solve this problem using standard tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "All Programs" item.
Step 2
Select Microsoft Office Tools and open the Restore Microsoft Office Applications link.
Step 3
Specify the unresponsive application or document in the Application list.
Step 4
Click the End Application button to perform a simple close without saving the last changes you made.
Step 5
Click the Restore Application or Restart Application button to attempt to restore the file.
Step 6
Open a Microsoft Word application or a program in the Office family.
Step 7
Select the files to be restored from the list in the application task pane and open the service menu by clicking on the arrow next to the name of the selected file.
Step 8
Use the Open command to start working on the file.
Step 9
Use the "Save As" command to save the selected file. It should be remembered that: - files containing the word "Recovered" in the header contain later revisions of the document;
- the "Show recovered items" command will allow you to view which items in the file have undergone recovery;
- you can view all versions of the document and select the one you need.
Step 10
Click the Close button in the Document Recovery task pane when you are finished.
Step 11
Select the "Open" command from the "File" menu in the top bar of Word to repair the text of a damaged document.
Step 12
Specify the drive, folder, or web address that contains the selected document in the Folder list.
Step 13
Open the desired folder and select the file to recover.
Step 14
Call the service menu by clicking on the arrow next to the "Open" button and select the "Open and restore" command.
