Step 1
You can enable the video card in the BIOS menu. To enter the BIOS menu, press Del immediately after turning on the computer. Sometimes other keys can be used for this. You can find out which one is used on your motherboard from the instructions for it. If you do not have time to press the desired key on the initial startup screen of the computer, then you will have to restart it again.
Step 2
Once you get into the BIOS, find the section where you can choose which video card to use. Typically, the board selection option is found in the Chipset section. In this section, find the line Boot Graphic Adapter Priority (on some motherboards, the option for choosing a video card is called First Display Boot)

Select this line and press Enter. After that, options will appear, among which should be PCI Express or simply PCI. Choose this option. This means that the computer will use a video card that is connected to the PCI Express bus. The device is now turned on. Select Exit in BIOS, then Save / Exit. The computer will restart. The next time you start it, the system will use a discrete graphics card.
Step 4
If you have activated the use of a video card connected to the PCI Express port, but after exiting the BIOS and saving the settings, it is still not used, then there can be only two reasons. Either the discrete video card is defective or, more likely, you did not fully plug it into the PCI Express port. Check the connection. The card must be well fixed.

You can also turn on the video card without entering the BIOS. This method is suitable for those who could not find the BIOS entry key on the motherboard. You need to download a BIOS emulator that you can run from your desktop. The work of the emulator is no different from the work in the BIOS itself. This utility is completely free and weighs only 20 megabytes.
