The Opera browser was the first Internet browser to feature Express Panel. This is a standalone page with a set of image links most frequently used by a web surfer of site pages. With default settings, modern versions of Opera show an express panel every time the browser starts, but if the user has changed the settings, then it is easy to make this home page again.
Instructions
Step 1
Start Opera, and then open its main menu - this can be done either by clicking on the button with the image of a half of the letter "O", or by pressing any of the two alt="Image" buttons on the keyboard.
Step 2
Go to the "Settings" section and select "General settings" - this is the topmost line in the list. This will open a five-tab window that contains the browser preference controls. To access it, instead of the menu, you can also use "hot keys" - this action is assigned a combination of alt="Image" + F12.
Step 3
The required setting - a drop-down list - is placed at the beginning of the "General" tab that opens by default, right below the line with the text "Specify what the browser should do at startup." Expand the list of options and do what is asked for in this line - select "Open Speed Dial".
Step 4
If the required item is not in the drop-down list, then the browser is disabled using tabs. To activate this function in the same window of the main settings go to the "Advanced" tab. It consists of sections, each of which is opened by selecting the corresponding line in the list at the left edge of the window. Select the "Tabs" line.
Step 5
Among the main settings of this section, the one you need is not, therefore, by clicking on the "Customize tabs" button, open an additional set of settings. The "Open window without tabs" checkbox is responsible for displaying tabs - this is the second control element from the top in the additional panel. Uncheck it and click OK.
Step 6
Unfortunately, right after the previous step, the required line will not appear in the drop-down list on the General tab. You will have to close the settings window by clicking the OK button, and then open it again and make the desired change in the Opera launch setting, that is, repeat the second and third steps.
