The queries entered in the search bar remain in the browser cache by default and appear on repeated calls to reduce the time spent finding the necessary information. In some cases, queries are stored on the search engine server. To clear the search string, you must delete the browser cache or prevent the search engine from storing the entered words and phrases.

Step 1
Google Chrome To prevent the search engine from automatically loading the previously entered words into the query string, and at the same time to clear the browser cache, click on the icon with the image of a wrench in the browser panel and select the "Options" command. In the General menu, in the Search section, uncheck the box next to Enable Live Search. In the "Advanced" menu, click the "Clear browsing data" button, then select all available checkboxes, click and confirm to clear the cache and other data.

Opera In this browser, to perform the same procedure, press Ctrl and F12 to open the Preferences dialog box. On the Search tab, uncheck the box next to Enable Search Suggestions, click OK. Go to the "Advanced" tab and open the "History" menu. Click the "Clear" button in the "Disk Cache" section.

Mozilla Firefox From the Firefox menu, select Options and go to the Privacy tab. Click on the active link "Clear your recent history". In the new dialog box, select a time period to clear the query history for a specific period of time, and select the checkboxes for Forms and Search History and Cache. Click the "Clear Now" button to apply the changes.

Internet Explorer In a Microsoft browser, open the Internet Options dialog box from the Tools menu. In the "Browsing history" section, click the "Delete" button, check the boxes related to entering requests and confirm the changes. Click the Options button in the Search section, select your default search engine, and click Disable Suggestions to prevent the search engine from saving your queries.
